I was born on the morning of New Year's Eve 1956 in Wrocław (Breslau).
My home town, however, became Rheinberg on the Lower Rhine – known worldwide through the Underberg family and Claudia Schiffer – where I attended kindergarten, primary school and the Amplonius-Gymnasium, where I also completed my Abitur.
My journey through Germany then continued in Cologne, where I studied psychology for a few semesters at the University of Cologne, and from there I completed my civilian service at the Rhineland state school for deaf children with multiple disabilities, run by the Landschaftsverband Rheinland, in Euskirchen.
This was followed by nursing training at the Bethanien hospital in Moers.
I studied human medicine up to the first state examination at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, before completing the clinical part of my studies with the state examination at the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) in Munich.
I also obtained my doctorate at the LMU, at Großhadern University Hospital, with the dissertation "The value of hormonal and sonographic parameters in assessing early pregnancy and in the differential diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy".
After heading one of the first AIDS counselling centres in Germany at the state health office in Landshut, I completed my clinical training as a gynaecologist at the district hospital in Fürstenfeldbruck and above all at the Marienkrankenhaus in Hamburg under Professor Peter Scheidel.
After my specialist examination I took up a position as senior physician at the Landshut-Achdorf district hospital.
This was followed by the founding of a day clinic for outpatient surgery and oncological chemotherapy, with an affiliated institute for laser therapy, hormone cosmetics and nutritional medicine in Mühldorf am Inn.
My next professional station was my work as a specialist at the minimally invasive surgery (MIC) training centre of the Dingolfing-Landau hospital.
Alongside my work I enrolled at the Faculty of Law of the University of Passau and studied Public Health at the LMU Munich in Großhadern. At the Faculty of Business Administration of Landshut University of Applied Sciences I obtained the degree "Ökonomed".
As leading senior physician, I worked at the women's clinic of the academic teaching hospital Ludwigsfelde-Luckau near Berlin, before once again founding my own practice as a gynaecologist in Bad Reichenhall/Piding.
A second practice in Split, Croatia, is being established.
Areas of expertise
In addition to general gynaecology and obstetrics, my areas of expertise are the diagnosis and therapy of endometriosis (certificate of special qualification), care of high-risk pregnancies including colour Doppler and 3D ultrasound, outpatient surgery, oncological care, and hormone and metabolic diagnostics and therapies.
